The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is India's government agency responsible for military research and development. It was formed in 1958 by merging several defence research organizations. DRDO works under the Ministry of Defence to develop advanced weapons and technologies for the Indian armed forces. It carries out research and development in various fields such as aeronautics, armaments, combat engineering, electronics, missiles, and naval technologies. Some of DRDO's major projects include developing the Tejas LCA, Arjun and T-90 tanks, BrahMos missile, and the Prithvi and Agni ballistic missiles.
