from a standstill, the sport of drag racing is
popular around the world. For those who have
never raced before but aspire to have their time
on the track, here are some tips to get started:

- Keep safety first. Drivers need to have their
own safety list boxes ticked before drag racing.
Are the tire lug nuts tightened? Is there anything
dripping from the car? Is the fuel cap secured
tightly? These are just some things to go over.
- Don’t be faster than you need to be. The
winning car just needs to be slightly faster than
the fastest competitor is. Letting your car rip at
its fastest speed may result in having a class rule
that will slow down the team.

- If the worst happens, pull the chute.
Steering the car only works if the front wheels
have solid contact to the ground. If it’s
sliding sideways, it’s best to pull the chute.
