The document discusses various causes of permanent packer failure, including body collapse from differential pressure, packing element failure from over-pressurization or chemical breakdown, pin collapse at body/guide connections, body-to-guide thread failure from tensile loads, anchor attachment failure, and bearing failure between locating/sealing assemblies and the packer body. It also describes using a packer envelope diagram to ensure planned well operations do not exceed the packer's safe operating limits.

This project evaluated street lighting around the University of North Alabama campus. GPS was used to locate and map street lights, which were then analyzed in GIS to identify areas that lacked sufficient lighting. Based on the analysis, four key areas were identified that would benefit from additional street lights: an alley connecting two parking lots, two intersections near campus, and another intersection that is a main entrance to campus but currently lacks lighting. Improving street lighting in these areas would enhance safety for pedestrians and drivers, as well as potentially encourage more students to walk instead of drive on campus.
Carl Holt is a highly motivated and technically savvy GIS Analyst. The author first met Carl in 2009 when hiring him as a GIS Analyst, and was immediately impressed by how quickly Carl learned and would think outside the box. Over the years, Carl has grown tremendously in his GIS knowledge and skills, especially in dealing with complex utility issues. The author believes Carl would make an excellent employee as he is very intelligent, detail-oriented, and always striving to learn new things.
