Self-Directed Support in Scotland for people with mental health problems, 1 A...Rich Watts
This document discusses Self-Directed Support (SDS) for people with mental health problems. It summarizes evidence that SDS works by allowing over 70% of people to live independently and get the support they want with dignity and respect, and less than 10% report negative impacts. The document also discusses how SDS can be made to work through adequate funding, promotion, clear referral processes, and understanding that personalization affects staff and services as well as those receiving support.
The survey results showed that most people access new music online (81%) or through friends (62.5%) rather than in stores (18.8%) or on TV (56.3%). Respondents spent more money on music each month than expected, with many purchasing music on iTunes or in stores rather than downloading illegally. The survey informed the design of a new music magazine by revealing what readers want, such as information on new artists, freebies, and an in-depth story on a featured star.

This university magazine has a very simple and old-fashioned design that matches the style of the Virginia University, with basic fonts and an image of the main building that are not meant to be flashy. The reviewer finds the look of the magazine very boring and thinks students would not pick it up. Another magazine reviewed has an unappealing sketch of an old woman and seems aimed at teachers rather than students. A college magazine focused on sports, particularly basketball, uses suitable images of players and simpler fonts that appeal more to younger audiences.
This double page spread features a band in a typical teenager's bedroom to appeal to teenage readers. The main focuses are in blue to distinguish important areas. Though the genre isn't the author's taste, they understand its appeal to teenagers through its laid back attitude. The second spread again uses blue and seems to feature a pop/punk band based on clothing and name. It simply introduces the band. The third spread features The Black Eyed Peas in gold and gray, highlighting Will.I.Am as he was interviewed while the others faded into the background, combining two shoots into one. The right side uses bold questions and normal text answers in a typical interview style.

The document discusses the album covers of several rap/hip hop artists and how they represent unique styles that depart from typical album cover designs for those genres. Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 cover is abstract and aims to show a unique musical style. Wiley's Playtime Is Over cover features a blackened playground to represent his "dark and grimy" music genre. Ludacris' Theatre of Mind cover shows him in different positions in a theater to portray himself as the dominant rapper in control of the show.
This document summarizes a music magazine project. It describes the target audience as males aged 17-20 interested in R&B, hip-hop, and rap. It discusses using colors, images, and simple layouts to attract this audience. Survey results showed the magazine was viewed as targeting these music genres and age range. The magazine would likely be distributed like other mainstream magazines through stores and online retailers.
