Phase 1: Define
In this phase the project team creates a Project Charter, a high-level map of the process and begins to
understand the needs of the customers of the process.

Application of Six Sigma for GoT
Back-Ground:
• The Citizens of Westeros need Dragon–Glass based
weapons to survive the attack from the Night-King
and his undead army.
• Dragon-Glass is only available on Dragonstone
island and it needs hours of skillful labor to convert
into weaponry.
But,… Khaleesi Knows Six-Sigma:
• Daenerys identifies the importance of Dragon-Glass
for her mission to capture the Iron-Throne and
wants to apply Six-Sigma Methodology for the
production of Dragon-Glass Weapons

Project Charter : Improve Turn-Around Time and Quality of Weapons Production
Problem Statement
The existing process is not scalable and need to have
a efficient process for rapid manufacture of highly
robust dragon-glass weaponry to tackle the undead
uprising.
Goal Statement
The Goal is to reduce the weapon production time
from 4 weeks to 2 weeks and increase the weapon
strength 2 fold in the next 3 months before the
winter arrives
Scope / Constraints / Assumptions
Constraints : Limits on Dragon-Glass Extraction is 100
Kgs / week
Dragons cannot replace hearth furnace (use of
Dracarys is void)

Arya Stark : Valar Morghulis Every Man must be able to wield
the weapons
Make the Dragon-Glass Weapons
40% lighter by changing the
handle to Valeriyan steel
Brienne of Tarth : My weapon
should cut through like a knife
through butter
The weapons should be sleak and
must have sharp edges
Use ancient fire-fly ash recepie to
reduce the blade thickness to
10mm
The Hound : I need something
which I can pound my enemies
head with
The weapon needs stability at the
grip and a good balance
Have resin - coated grips on the
handle which will improve the
stability by 20%
