A new study found that children who spend more than 2 hours a day on electronic devices are more likely to be overweight or obese. Researchers analyzed data from over 2000 children between ages 6-17 and found that those who engaged with screens for entertainment over 2 hours daily outside of school work were twice as likely to be overweight or obese. Public health officials recommend limiting recreational screen time to less than 2 hours per day and replacing it with active play when possible.
