- In our initial research, we discovered that over 80% of college-aged Facebook users doubt the credibility of their friends ’ online profiles (Figure 2). Nevertheless, sole editing powers continues to lie in the hands of the individual on display. What if these profiles opened up to democratic input?
- For high school and college aged Facebook users jaded by superficial online identities, Dirty Plate is a social platform that allows users to create more authentic (or at least comical) online profiles for their friends. Let’s be honest, think about your friends’ profiles...they’re obviously way more groomed than they would be if you created them. That’s where dirty plate comes in...you create your friends’ profiles...they decide how much editing power they retain, if any..

This is not for everybody. We are not trying to piggyback LinkedIn, for example, as some competitors are.
