I am not Navajo (Diné), nor do I speak the language, so this
presentation is an outsider’s introduction to the culture via
Indigenous connections on the social web. You are welcome

We welcome your interaction -- comments, questions,
suggestions, shares, clips, favorites, likes and hearts.

Navajo Sandpainting made by Frank
Martin from Shiprock, New Mexico.
"Navajo people believe the universe to
be delicately balanced. Only man can
upset it, causing disaster and or illness.
When this happens, a medicine man
must restore the natural balance.
Balance is restored in the universe by
healing the offender with chants, herbs,
prayers, songs and sandpaintings.
