E.D. Baburaj, a disabled swimmer from India who lost his hand at age 11 and is 40% disabled, set the Asian record for longest distance swam by a handicapped person by swimming 10 kilometers with one hand. Swimming has been his passion since childhood and despite his disability he has represented his university and state in numerous swimming competitions. He hopes to participate in the 2016 IWAS World Games in Sochi, Russia but needs to raise Rs. 3 lakh for travel and expenses. Baburaj supports himself by selling LIC policies and wishes to become a swimming coach once he returns from the Games.
