1) In Mexico, Epiphany is celebrated on January 6th to commemorate the visit of the Three Wise Men to baby Jesus. A key tradition is eating rosca de reyes, a bread with a baby figurine hidden inside. 2) When the author was a child in Mexico City, they would go downtown to see lights and have their picture taken with actors as the Three Wise Men. Children would also send letters to the Wise Men by attaching them to balloons. 3) Families and friends would gather to share rosca de reyes, hot chocolate, and sometimes tamales. Children left shoes by the window hoping to receive gifts from the Wise Men.
