The trail is good, first slowly up, then a bit steeper to Australian Camp (2060m – About one hour), then after that slightly downhill to Pothana (1950m) then up again to Deurali (2100m). There is a right turn in Deurali signposted “Forest Camp” the trail is through jungle, at first up then undulating on the top of a ridge, there is a section just over half way where the trail drops steeply and then slowly gains height and then back onto the ridge and into Forest Camp (2600m). The trail is initially quite steep leaving Forest Camp but soon gets less steep as you again get up on the ridge. The trail leaves Low Camp again in the jungle, but the trees soon start to get smaller and after about one hours trekking broke out of the jungle and onto the open ridge with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre ahead and Annapurna South to my left. It is possible to continue trekking along the ridge for another 4 to 5 hours to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m) and return to High Camp in around 4 hours – This makes a long day but there is also a viewpoint about halfway, the imaging view can be from here. Day 1: Our journey begins from Dehradun. In around 7 hours we reach Sankri through the picturesque villages of Damta, Purola, Mori and Netwar. Sankri is a little hamlet in the lap of lush green Himalayas and the source of many trek routes such as Har Ki Dun and Kedarkantha. Our route passes through Govind Pashu Vihar National Park, which is a sanctuary for many of the endangered species of animals and a variety of medicinal plants. At Sankri you can set up your camp, or stay at a guest house.
Day 2:Early in the morning, after having our breakfast, we drive off for Taluka. Taluka is another small village with a cluster of little houses made of wood, stone and mud, located only 12 kilometers away from Sankri. The road to Taluka is a bit bumpy, and it takes around one hour to reach Taluka.
From Taluka, our trek begins along the stony path, amidst the tall pines and walnut trees, with the river flowing beside us. Passers by will smile and wave at you. The walk will remind you of the song ‘What a wonderful world’. By the time we reach the village of Osla, our life back in the plains seems to be a distant story.
You can camp at Seema, a small settlement opposite to Osla, or you can stay with the people of the village for the night in their houses, listening to the tales of the Himalayas from their mouths.

and keep your dignity.
It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on way to shrines.
Beef is prohibited among both the Hindus and Buddhists. No female animal is killed
for food.
You may not be allowed entry to the inner sanctuaries of temples and Stupas.

Generally temples, Stupas and monuments are permitted to be photographed,
but it is better to have permission before using your cameras.

Some time we could face problem of internal flights to/from Jomsom delayed by few
hours or cancelled for a day because of bad weather. It is happen very rarely, but it

Kathmandu after your base camp trek if possible (just for incase). If everything runs
smoothly, you can enjoy other activities like sightseeing, rafting, shopping, as you wish in
those additional day overnight at hotel.
