The document describes potential characters for a 1970s barber shop setting. Character 1 is James Thompson, a 30-year-old middle class businessman who is well-dressed and groomed. Character 2 is Robert Jones, a 45-year-old barber who has worked at the shop for over 6 years and is friendly and confident. Character 3 is Gary Davis, a 27-year-old upper class and handsome yet snobby man. The characters were created to represent the types of customers that may have frequented a barbershop during that era.

5. I chose these characters as the image we
were given shows that it is a very old
fashioned male orientated barbers. It
seems like wealthy, working men over the
age of 25 may go to that barbers. We had
done this task to give us an idea of what
type of characters you would associate
with a particular scene.
6. A Scenario….
This is a scenario I have created for the barber shop.
• A middle class man who is not dressed very formal and is in
normal tight fitted trousers and a regular fitted shirt top. He is
named Jamie Dane and is in aged 30. He is quite camp and very
friendly most of the time.
• Jamie went to get his hair cut in the barbers however, the
workers mistook him for a homosexual and refused to cut his
hair. They didn’t respect they way he spoke or the way he
dressed and saw him as a lower class.
• He didn’t appreciate the way he was being treated and gets into
a conflict with one of the workers who has been working there
for many years. Many of the customers are getting restless and
leave whilst Jamie is causing a scene. Once he realises he is not
getting anywhere with this argument, Jamie leaves in disgust
threatening to ruin there business.
