Discussions:
● The bigger problem is that people in the chapels are not growing in their faith and therefore the more relevant
mission is to strengthen the faith of the members through deeper evangelization program and prioritizing
catechism as part of the initial activities.
● Majority of the Christians who are members of the different chapels are poor with a mindset that is full of
anger, depression and hopelessness living in an environment that is degraded and unprotected, unpreserved.
● There is a need to invite others in the continuing journey of knowing God and living God’s words and
believing that God is good.
● People must be reminded about Abraham who in his very old age did not have a child but believed firmly in
God’s grace and he was granted a son.
Moving forward:
● The organization has been finalized with the elected officers and the Parish Caritas is about
ready to start. Other organizations will be informed later about the details of the Parish
Caritas as it is important that the focus is the start up activities.
● There will be a “mission sending” of the Caritas team as soon as possible.
● An important step to strengthen the team get to know the chapels better will be the conduct
of the following:
○ Updated list of members
○ Census / statistical profile of all the chapels and members
○ General description of the chapels and their patrons
○ List of members
○ Access to sacraments
○ List of the poorest of the poor
○ Profiling / database
Moving forward:
● The first activity in line with the agenda of strengthening the faith of the chapel
members will be the Lenten Recollection.
○ Monday and Tuesday, the Caritas team with the BEC and chapel leaders will be doing visitation
rounds in the different chapels meeting with the faithful and informing them about the Caritas work
and that the first part is helping parishioners to strengthen their faith by bible meetings and group
consultations with the team who will be going around the chapels.
○ Wednesday and Thursday will be the Lenten recollection proper and inviting all of those who have
been visited and met during the chapel round up.
○ Friday will be the visitation by the Parish Priest to all the chapels to give the faithful the opportunity
to take the sacrament of confession and then hold a mass for them to consequently also partake
of the Holy Communion.
