This document provides descriptions of several projects completed by Developex, a software development company. Projects include mobile apps for wireless storage and speakers, a file sharing platform, document management software, business intelligence platforms, mining company databases, social assessment platforms, and warehouse/inventory management systems with barcode and RFID readers. 2. Software for Mobile Wireless storage by Developex
Customer: Large international consumer hardware company .
Project type: Entertainment, Consumer Apps, Software for Hardware, Mobile

Description
This wireless storage is the high-performance media hub for your connected
life. Store all your digital media and the whole family can enjoy it at home or
on the go. With a battery life of up to seven hours and a 90-foot wireless range
you can take it anywhere you go.
Server-side and multiple client applications were released, including: iOS,
Android and Web. Our software gives ability to browse through content of App
storage (NAS) and view media content. App has video-music player and photo
gallery manager integrated into it.
There is media library implemented on the server that handles file system
changes, parses media files (video, music, photo) for tags and populated media
database with them to simplify user access to data. Also it is capable of
synchronizing with Dropbox and Google Drive cloud file storages.
Project duration/Team: less than a year for team of 5 people.

3. App for speaker device by Developex

Description
Development of controlling software for Logitech UE Boom.
UE BOOM is the 360 degrees wireless speaker made to rage, riot, party and play the
music you love out loud. With the UE BOOM app, it becomes even more. Use the app for:
● Double Up – Wirelessly connect two UE BOOMs together in stereo to double the
sound and expand the party.
● Alarm – UE BOOM wakes you up with your favorite songs and music services.
Enjoy Spotify playlists and radio, Pandora stations, iTunes and much more.
Because the party never actually stops–you just fall asleep.
● Customizable EQ Settings – Use the new 5-band custom equalizer to tweak the
mids, highs and lows so that they're just right for you favorite playlists, songs
and genres.
Project duration: 1.5 years with a team of 3 people , more than 5 products supported.
Interesting facts: Product support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for connecting and
controlling devices.

4. File storage and screen sharing platform

Description
A platform for instant file sharing. Simple and quick way to privately share photos, videos
and any files . No social features, no feeds or public galleries. Just choose any image/video
and share it by private link. Multiple clients for Android, iOS, Desktop, MacOS, Chrome,
Firefox, Safari add-ins. Desktop client has a lof of functions for screencasts recording and
annotations.
Features:
● Take a photo or video and upload it to Grabilla;
● Upload images and videos from your phone gallery;
● Instant sharing of any media files with “Share” context menu;
● You can access your history from PC or other devices;
● Use your phone function to take screenshot and share it with Grabilla client;
● Main screen widget with last shared items.
Team/Project Duration: Project were started 5 year ago and updated/supported since then
with releases done. As software requires multiple platforms support, DevelopEx has more
that 6 people participating part-time in support and development.

5. Document Management software by Developex
Customer: Software company in Western Canada
Project type: Document Management Solution, SAAS,
Technology: PHP, .NET, Zend, JQuery, ExtJS, MySQL, SearchServers, AWS
Description
Focused largely on tagged equipment, we minimize the manual work required to deliver
project documentation. With a unique solution which creates and links the document register
to the order data, our software systematically creates document metadata (including document
specific tag lists). We then use this data, (along with a heavy dose of document management
and document formatting magic), to compliance to document submission specifications.
Features:
● Workflow Manager allowing custom routing settings for each client/process .
● Templates support for multiple documentation types
● Transmittal and Workbooks generation and management.
● Document Register from Bill of Materials (or Order line items)
Team/Project Duration: Project were started in 2007 and developed/updated since that time.
The team has grown from 3 people to 8 full time specialists on Developex side.
Interesting Fact: While working on a project several team members were transferred to in-house
team to Canada as employees. It allows our client to build most effective
communication on the project.

6. Team extension by Developex
Customer: Business intelligence startup from California , USA
Project type: SAAS, staffing
Technology: PHP, Java, Python, MySQL, Hadoop, BigQuery, QlikView

Business intelligence platform, that delivers:

Team: DevelopEx set up a team of 8 senior and intermediate developers, 5 QA
engineers
Project duration: Team started from 3 people and after 4 years of work it has grown to
13 people in Kiev office.
Expertise required: Team leader who fits the customer team was crucial. Strong
technical skills in PHP/MYSQL.
Interesting fact: Client has product owner and architect. At some stage in-house
engineers appeared for technical sales and support.

7. Mining businesses database by Developex
Customer: Startup from successful Investment advisor
Project type: Business directory, Specialized Social Network
Technology: PHP, JQuery, ExtJS, MySQl
Description
Universal reference of mining company and property data. The database contains over
1700 companies with more than 9000 properties. It includes practically all mining &
exploration stocks listed in the US, Canada, UK and Australia. Database presents
financial, mineral resources and property data for each company, as well as a toolbox
of investor metrics and graphics. The purpose of the site is to allow investors to
search for and easily compare mining companies based upon virtually any relevant
criteria.
Features:
● 30-45 data points per company, including extensive financial, resource and
production data.
● A custom stock screener to find, compare and analyze picks
● Lists of companies that can be generated using any combination of selections
with 6 filters: Minerals, Market Cap, Headquarter Country, Type of Resource
Data, Stage, and Property Countries.
Team/Project Duration: Project were developed and updated/supported for 2 years
with a team of 3 people (including QA and Manager). First version were completed in
3 months from start.

8. Social assessment platform by Developex
Customer: Social start-up company in New York, USA
Project type: Consumer Web, SAAS, Specialized Social Network.
Technology: Python, Django, JQuery, postgreSQL, 360° assessments, AWS
Description
Innovative tool on social applications market which attempts to give new
insights about human mind to the public.
It’s a feedback platform with novel methodologies that assess 'soft' skills and
qualities, based on situations and behavior, asked of a user about self and their
peers about a user.
On the backend, this app is a do-it-yourself cloud solution to create and manage
360° assessments and make sense of results in context to any team or a broader
population. Used by university teachers, content providers and all kinds of talent
managers.
Team/Project Duration: Project were developed and updated/supported for 2
years with a team of 3 people (including QA and Manager). First version were
completed in 3 months from start.
Interesting Fact: The project is a platform which allows to build multiple
implementations around customer satisfaction, assessments and social network
creation topics.

9. Warehouse software solution with bar-code and RFID reader
Customer : Well-known IT security company, USA
Project type: Warehouse software, management system, mobile
Technology: .NET, C#, ExtJs, MS SQL,.NET Compact Framework, RFID, Windows CE
Description
The goal of the system is to optimize the business process of gathering and reporting
data from sales points and preparing renewal statistics to calculate commission for
vendors and distributors.
System consist of mobile RFID Reader and web-based management system.
RFID Reader is Windows CE application that provides the sales data of the sell point
where this app installed.
Features:
● bar-code scanning and download of orders data from server
● RFID scanning and upload of new data to management system
● exchange and synchronisation of all data between device and server
Management system - store all the data and information about user accounts,
includes management data functions: add / edit / delete data.
Team/Project Duration: The product was developed with a team of 3 people: software
developer, PM and QA tester.

10. Inventory management app with bar-code reader

Project type: Inventory management, PocketPC, Mobile
Technology: .NET, C#, C++, Delphi, Windows CE,
Description
PDA - Pocket PC (Windows CE and Windows Mobile) application for inventory
management with bar-code reader integration.
Features:
● Setting window. Allows to change language, scanner type, data and currency
format and also choose folder to store export files
● Create inventory with different properties (wide mode)
● Registration of inventory item with possibility to set different required
properties (portrait mode)
● List of created inventory with basic information (wide mode)
● Search existing inventory item parameters (wide mode)
● Export data to the file
This tool is obsolete now, but might be interesting as a showcase.
