This document outlines risks and precautions taken while filming. Key risks included driving in snow, dropping equipment like cameras and keyboards, and falling downstairs. Precautions taken were driving carefully, having two people carry heavy items, safely storing equipment when not in use, checking for obstructions, bringing a first aid kit, and staying hydrated.
My session @ UXcamp Switzerland, Zürich, May 23, 2014.
I'm looking at the UX job landscape in Switzerland and am asking, where those jobs are that allow you to strategically influence the product or service you're defining the UX for.
This document discusses the use of apps as an interface paradigm for complex content management systems (CMS) like Magnolia. It argues that apps can help address UI complexity by dividing the interface into focused modules that map to specific tasks. The document outlines some benefits of apps, like modularity and clarity of extension points, but also notes challenges like ensuring navigation is not disorienting and content is not siloed. It concludes that adopting apps fully turns the CMS into more of a platform and requires focusing on core services and integration between apps.

Providing Print Quality Object Images for Free Public Downloadswinmill
The Victoria and Albert Museum is providing high quality digital images of objects from its collection for free public download on its website. Previously, images could only be used for academic or nonprofit purposes with strict limitations. The new website allows full search and access to the museum's collection of over 1.1 million objects. It was developed over 6 months by a team of web developers and provides open access to enrich people's understanding of art and design.

How to design and build great apps (with moderator notes)Andreas Weder
Mika and I look at what it takes to create great apps with Magnolia, and also present some of the new features of Magnolia 5.3.
This is the version also containing notes; the nicer looking, but less informative can be found over at Magnolia's official channel: http://de.slideshare.net/Magnolia_CMS/how-to-design-and-build-great-apps
Mika did quite some coding during our talk which isn't captured in the slides. Check out the video of the presentation to get it all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs4u5XNFi2g
A digipak is a type of compact disc or DVD packaging that consists of a gatefold paperboard outer binding with one or more plastic trays inside to hold a disc. Digipaks are commonly used for CD singles or special editions and provide extra content like live performances, interviews, music videos and more to appeal to fans. Popular bands that have released digipaks include Radiohead, Metallica, Slipknot and others. Digipaks benefit both audiences through bonus materials and the music industry through increased sales and profits.
Using Server and Storage Virtualisation: Our journey to scalabilityswinmill
The document discusses the Victoria and Albert Museum's journey to improve its IT infrastructure and scalability. It describes how the museum had outdated server hardware and inadequate data storage. It implemented a virtualized server solution using VMware and procured a data storage solution from Viglen Storage Group with Hitachi that provided 60TB of usable storage across two systems. This new infrastructure provided business continuity, supported the museum's growing digital collections, and positioned it for future technological needs.
Floria Sigismondi is a Canadian photographer and music video director known for her unique and disturbing visual style. She draws inspiration from photographers like Joel-Peter Witkin and painters like Francis Bacon. Sigismondi is best known for directing music videos for artists in alternative genres, using techniques like jittery camerawork and incorporating dark imagery and themes. Some of her most famous videos include Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People" and Christina Aguilera's "Fighter".
This document provides summaries of three music videos:
1) The White Stripes - "Blue Orchid" focuses on the Victorian era setting and director Floria Sigismondi's signature jittery camerawork.
2) Duran Duran - "Wild Boyz" emphasizes the music through sharp cuts and movements that match the beat. Directed by Russell Mulcahy, it has stunts and effects resembling a film.
3) Alexisonfire - "Young Cardinals" shows the hardcore punk genre through moshing and jumping. It focuses on the band's performance and their connection to the crowd.
Over 21 million people use Blackberry smartphones which are developed by Research In Motion in Canada and available in over 140 countries. Blackberry targets both business professionals who use it for email and Microsoft Office as well as younger generations who use it for social media and games. Advertising is done through television, print, internet, and strategic partnerships with companies like Facebook. A SWOT analysis found strengths in brand image and features while weaknesses included dependence on global networks and cost. Opportunities exist in offering variety for mobile workers while threats include increased competition.
