Editor's Notes
Picture: A picture of awesome exaggerated Naruto animation.
A picture of your t rex gorilla about to slam on the ground. Explain how to make it like anime, you really have to lead with the head and leave your arms behind.
This one was not made by me, it was made by Tre Vital, he’s a really talented guy. But, this kinda goes to show how you have to think critically to design a rig that’s easy for an animator to use. It’s sort of like making a toy for the animator to move around and pose. Like, how do you think you move the torso? You grab this yellow cube around his torso and move it around. How do you move his feet? You grab the little icon around his foot and you move it around. But what’s really awesome about this one in particular is that you can take that little mace on his arm and when you pull it, it feeds out the rope it’s attached to and the icons even come with it and you can bend that around and stuff, and when you go to put the mace back, it’ll follow the rope’s curve. It’s creative solutions like that, that make me really like rigging and seeing other peoples’ rigs.
Making games with your friends for a living? Like, how much more could you want from life? It’s amazing. If our games are successful, I can definitely see myself doing this for the rest of my life. What do I mean by successful, though?
