The Department of Statistics (STAT) was newly formed to carry out the tasks of the former Central Bureau of Statistics. STAT generates statistics through field research and administrative records to analyze the economic, demographic, social and environmental status of St. Maarten. Its mission is to produce useful statistics professionally, confidentially, objectively, accurately, reliably and promptly. STAT aims to continue using international standards while adapting them to the local situation through stakeholder consultation. It is located in the Vineyard Building and can be contacted at statinfo@sintmaartengov.org.
