Prior to his retirement, Mr. DeMark lead the Northeast Advisory Practice
(Consulting) for KPMG LLP, a global professional services Firm. He has held a
number of leadership positions within the Firm a majority within the Audit
Practice (35 years). He has managed practices and has been directly responsible
for clients in a broad range of industries including Banking, High Technology,
Aerospace and Defense, Media and Entertainment and Consumer Products. During
his career he has dealt with a broad range of issues including mergers and
acquisitions, Regulatory matters, Investigations, Due Diligence, Re Financing, SEC
matters and systems implementations. Mr. DeMark’s commitment to his client’s
and community has been well recognized.
During his last role, prior to his retirement, he was a member of the Northeast Area
Management Committee, which has overall responsibility for the Firm’s Area
operations. While on special assignment to the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants (AICPA), he served on the research staff of the Commission on
Auditors Responsibilities, the predecessor of the Treadway Commission.
He has also served in the Firm’s Department of Professional Practice – Education
Group and wrote the Firm’s first study guide on Securities and Exchange
Commission reporting.
