A refugee is someone who is unsafe living in their home country due to war, natural disasters, or religious, political, or national reasons. An asylum-seeker claims to be a refugee and the international and national systems must decide if this claim is valid; if rejected, they may be sent back to their home country. An immigrant moves to another country seeking a better future by living and working there.

1. Refugee: Someone who is not safe to live in his/her country
because of war, natural disasters or other religious, national
or political reasons.
Asylum-seeker: A person who says he/she is a refugee, but
international and national asylum systems have to decide
about it. If the decision is negative the person may have to
go back to his/her country.
Immigrant: A person who goes to a country to live and work
there looking for a better future.
