Through debating competitions, the author has improved their critical thinking skills, which have helped win tournaments by presenting insightful statements, theories, or proverbs.

Ever sinceI reached Gifford high schoolI have had a dream, it’s funny, even
Martin Luther had a dreambut anyway its dreams that channel earth towards
reality. I never understood how people coped with earth’s atmosphereof
negativity, neglection, affliction rapidly forming rivers to confliction, but now I
get why people fail to withstand this hideous but yet dangerous force.
Critical thinking, not many of our modern day leaders, teachers, preachers and
scholars seemto value it. The first thing I havewas taught when I reached
Gifford high schoolwas that everything has a right and wrong, you only need
to stop being too pessimistic or optimistic to see the good and evil in
everything.
For a long time I haven’t been THE best debater in this provinceof Bulawayo.
Frankly I caused my team to lose once and the second time, I simply wasn’t
good enough. It’s the feeling of not belonging that has caused me to
continuously adapt, dying to self , being accustomed to pain, hurt, neglect and
gradually after it all, hate. It’s also rather peculiar to note that life is different
to everyone, but truth is life is whatyou make it to be. Hurts huh?
So whatis to debate? Hilarious question with hilarious answers. Somesay
arguing, somesay talking, public speaking but these are all elements in
debating, the truth is debate is analysing a situation and argue what is true to
make better solutions. Wantto meet the best policy makers? Find a debater.
Debate is a key to success, a key to understanding, escapefromfolly, best
reasoning againstfactual intellectualism that has been made by men of great
perspective, it is morethan a co-curricular, morethan a game, it is the road to
realisation, the gravity of civilisation, it is the more than Sherlock Holmes and
the game of minds it is: I’vecome to stand, speak, and conquer, Viva Debate.
So debate and critical thinking are inseparable, it would be almost impossible
to talk of debate without mentioning critical thinking. As a debater I havewon
tournaments because of a singlestatement, theory, or even a proverb.
Thinking is hard but not impossible, impossibleis a word debaters never use
because nothing is impossible not even critical analysis.
