A plane carrying a Uruguayan rugby team crashed in the Andes mountains in 1972, killing many passengers. However, some survivors resorted to cannibalism of the deceased in order to live, eating the muscle tissue of their teammates. After 72 days in the freezing mountains and enduring starvation and extreme weather, 16 survivors were finally rescued.
