To whom it may concern
Samuel Rose undertook his final year of a Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree at Deakin
University this year and was a student in two units that I taught in the final semester: Medical
Microbiology and Immunology and Professional Practice in Bioscience. The latter is a work
placement unit designed to teach students employment‐related skills in preparation for the
work place and their future careers in science. Sam did particularly well in this unit, achieving a
grade of 90 (HD). Part of the requirement of this unit is that students source and undertake
work experience within a relevant organisation. Sam undertook his work placement at Ensign
Laboratories Pty Ltd where he assisted in the chemistry quality control laboratories. He was
highly commended by his supervisor who indicated in the formal report that Sam was a fast
learner and worked well independently.
During the semester Sam presented as a proactive individual and a self‐starter who is highly
motivated; he demonstrated exceptional learning capabilities. Sam was punctual and
conscientious, regularly attending classes for both units. Sam came across as a very interested
student who engaged well with the content of both units and he submitted all of his
assessments on time. He was always polite and courteous and a delight to have in my classes.
Sam’s marks throughout the semester reflected his hard work and dedication and his initiative
to succeed in his studies.
I strongly recommend and support Samuel Rose in his application for the Bachelor of Pharmacy
degree at Monash University and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
