The Victorious Praise Dance Ministry is hosting the first annual "Dance Like David" youth praise dance competition on January 21, 2012. Teams and individuals ages 4-18 are invited to audition for the competition for a chance to win cash prizes. The competition aims to celebrate praise dancing among youth and churches and bring dance ministries together through fellowship. Dear Youth Praise Dance Team Ministry Leader:
I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Victorious Praise Dance Ministry
is proud to announce their First Annual Youth Praise Dance Competition. Your praise dance teams, step
teams, and/or Christian mimes are cordially invited to participate in the 2012 Youth Praise Dance
Competition. This will be our first year hosting this event and we are prayerful and hopeful that this
event will be exceptional as well as pleasing in God’s sight.
In order to maintain the integrity and sincerity of this competition, we will be holding auditions. There is
a $20 registration fee for auditions. Each participant MUST be between the ages of 4-18. The Grand
Prize winner of this event will receive $1,000 cash and a trophy. The 2nd Prize winner will receive $500
and a trophy. The 3rd Prize winner will receive $250 and a trophy. There will also be trophies given
away for Best Costume, Best Choreography, Spirit Award, and Best Presentation. This event will be
judged by a panel of impartial judges. This event, “Dance like David”, will take place on Saturday,
January 21, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at the James A. Smith Convocation Center (Northview High School), in
Dothan, AL.
Due to the emerging popularity of praise dancing, the Victorious Praise Dance Ministry is looking for
creative ways to celebrate this form of praise and worship among area churches. “Dance like David” will
give our youth the opportunity to unite and praise God through dance, promote fellowship among the
different dance ministries, and establish the support and promotion of praise dance teams as a healthy,
church related form of competition.
In 2nd Samuel 6:14, it says, “And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David
was girded with a linen ephod.” There are many talented youth in and around the Wiregrass area
that are giving the Lord the glory, just like David did, through spiritual dance and we want to
celebrate that. Victorious Praise Dance Ministry is members of Followers of Christ Ministries,
where the Rev. Mace C. Daniels is the pastor, in Dothan, AL.
