It was the third BSE Smallcap 7,461 7,620 (2.09) straight trading session where the bears had an upper hand. After opening around 5130 levels, markets Nifty Junior 10,232 10,343 (1.07) gradually slipped throughout the day on the back of selling seen in the index heavyweights like JP Associates, RCom, RPower, Reliance Infra and DLF. However, bucking the negative trend were the TCS, BHEL, CNX Midcap 7,447 7,581 (1.77) HCL Tech and Bharti Airtel. Markets started off in the green, tracking firm cues from the US and Asian markets. However, sentiment was hit after the European markets opened in red post Germany’s adjusted GDP numbers, which grew just 0.1% during the second quarter v/s market expectation of 0.4% growth.
