DeLongis et al (1982) studied the effects of daily hassles on psychological and physical health. The study aimed to examine the accumulation and amplification effects of daily hassles. Participants reported their daily hassles over a period of time. The findings showed that accumulation of daily hassles was associated with poorer health outcomes, and that hassles had a greater impact when combined with major life events. The research established daily hassles as an important influence on health and well-being.
