3.  There will not be any direct impact of Monsoon progress on
Jeera as sowing is far away for the commodity. However it
may affect the market sentiments to some extent depending
on the arrival and the progress of Monsoon towards the
growing states of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Low demand was
noted as traders waited for some more dips before initiating
fresh demand in the mandis. Short term trend looks slight
weak as Monsoon sets in over Gujarat and Rajasthan in
coming weeks. Overall trend looks firm in long term
though, based on lower production reports.
 Chana settled up by 1.38% at 4174 on account of good
demand at the spot market. Besides, restricted arrivals of the
commodity in the physical market due to lower estimated
output also increased the prices. However, the above normal
progress of monsoon in the country weighed on the prices of
Chana. Rajasthan Govt imposing stock limit on Pulses had a
further bearish impact on the falling prices. Effective 7th
July to 30th Nov, the limit for wholesalers is 2500 Q for 45
days and for retailers: 250 Q.
