To the best Dad in the world Jon Puleston from
his hard working and loving daughter Myffi
 As you know, I unlike all but one of my best
friends have a job. In this job, I work very
hard on awful pay, and due to my recent
decision to swap to Sundays, my wages have
decreased to around only 20 pounds. You
could say that this is my fault for swapping
days, but I choose to put my revision for
GCSE’s in front of how much money I earn
(because I’m such a hard working person)
 Now that summer is fast approaching, it
comes a time where I need more money.
Travelling, food, necessary holiday items and
clothing. And even saving 20 pounds a
week, isn’t enough. I would like to propose to
you the option of letting me have a monthly
allowance like most other teenagers my age
    have.
 Kelly gets given £30 allowance monthly even when she has a
    higher earning job than me.
 Research shows that 65% of parents give their children an
    allowance every month.
 Research also shows that there’s actually an average of
£19.77 given a week to 12-18 year olds who buy their own
    clothes
 I buy clothes on rare occasions, but I have a genuine lack of
appropriate clothing currently due to growing...
 I would much prefer to be able to buy clothes to wear on
holiday rather than walk around Spain naked 
 I end up spending about £10 or more a month on birthday
    presents for friends.
 My friends’ allowances range from £30 to £190 meaning they
are sometimes able to do things I can’t afford.
 I feel I work very hard in school with my exams and my
job, and it would be nice if I was able to sometimes treat
    myself.
 Roughly every week I take around 4-6 bus journey’s so I can
socialise with my friends or get to and from school which
works out at around 10-15 pounds of my wages, leaving only
5 pounds every week to spend on anything else I may need
    including food and drink.
 I feel as though compared to most people my age, I have a
fairly strong awareness of spending money and I appreciate it
    when I have it.
I am extremely grateful for your kind agreement and financial
support in my holidays for this year which of course will be a
great reward for all my hard work. I would simply like to
negotiate an appropriate allowance for myself. Now that I’m
16 I’d like to have more responsibility, and I’d be willing to
help around the house more as well. At the moment I can’t
afford things I need such as make up, clothing or other
spending money I need for birthdays such as Kelly’s at the
  end of June.
Therefore I come to you in hope you can see my point of view
and agree to let me have an allowance.

                                                   Here’s a photo of
                                                   me and Jake. Jake
                                                   has an allowance.
                                                   You like Jake.
YOUR KIND
                             GENEROSITY
                                         This is me
                                         being pleased
                                         and grateful 
This shows how
charming I am not only in
personality, but looks.

                                                          My sadness
                                                          at your lack
                                                          of
                            You being unwilling cooperation
                            to negotiate... 
This is
cute.
