The conference on ecological agriculture held in Addis Ababa from November 26-28, 2008, brought together over 80 participants from 15 African countries to discuss the role of ecological agriculture in mitigating climate change and ensuring food security. Key conclusions included the potential of ecological practices to enhance agricultural productivity, improve livelihoods, and adapt to climate variability while addressing issues like land degradation and food import dependency. Recommendations included the need for policy support, training, and the establishment of demonstration projects to promote ecological agriculture across the continent.
