This document discusses research activities related to oxygen metabolism and regenerative medicine in horses being conducted by the Equine Teaching Hospital, Equine Research Center of Mont-le-Soie, and Centre For Oxygen, R&D at the University of Liege in Belgium. The research topics include laminitis, colic, mitochondrial function, oxidative stress, and regenerative medicine using stem cells and other therapies. The groups are conducting clinical trials and research on conditions such as developmental orthopaedic disease, tendinopathy, arthropathy, and muscle disorders using equipment like a treadmill, gait analyzer, and oxygen consumption monitors. Patents have been filed for stem cell therapies, anti-inflammatory drugs, and diagnostic tools.
