4. Citizenship can be obtained through different forms:
Investment Options
Option 1 – Government Bond
Applicants must make an investment of at least €5 million in Cypriot government bonds.
Investors need to maintain the purchased bonds for a period of three years.
Option 2 –Financial assets of Cypriot companies or organizations
Applicants must make an investment of at least €5 million in qualified financial assets (bonds, securities,
debentures, etc.) registered and issued in the Republic of Cyprus of Cypriot companies or organizations.
Investors need to maintain the purchased assets for a period of three years.
Option 3 – Real estate, land development and infrastructure projects
Applicants must make an investment of at least €5 million in the purchase or construction of buildings,
land development projects (residential or commercial) or infrastructure projects.
Option 4 – Purchase, creation, or participation in Cypriot businesses or companies
Applicants must make an investment of at least €5 million in the purchase, creation or participation in
businesses or companies that are based and operating in the Republic. These businesses or companies
should evidently have a tangible presence in Cyprus and employ at least five Cypriot citizens.
It is noted that the mandatory conversion of deposits into shares is included in this criterion.
Option 5 – Deposit in a Cypriot bank
Applicants choosing this option must have a fixed term deposit of at least €5 million for three years
in a Cypriot bank.
Option 6 – Mixed investments
Applicants must make an investment of at least €5 million in a combination of the aforementioned
options 1-5.
Option 7 – Persons whose deposits with the Bank of Cyprus or Popular Bank have been impaired
after March 15, 2013
The applicant has incurred an impairment in deposits amounting to a total of at least €3 million.
In the case where the applicant has incurred an impairment in his/her deposits under €3 million he/she
may apply, having made an additional investment through options 1-5 for the balance of the required
amount.
Collective investments
The Council of Ministers shall have the right on special occasions, to reduce the investment requirement
to €2,5 million for investors, who demonstrably participate in a special collective investment scheme,
provided that the combined total value of the investment is at least €12,5 million.

6. Not only does Cyprus have the lowest and most favourable tax rates in Europe, it also has many tax
exemptions for non-residents. Non-residents are only liable to pay taxes in Cyprus for income generated
in the country. Moreover, there is no withholding tax on interest income derived in Cyprus or dividends
earned in the country. Cyprus has signed a Double taxation treaty with 43 countries to ensure that taxable
income derived in Cyprus is credited from the country of tax residence of the individual.
