The Caribbean Examinations Council achieved several goals in 2005 as outlined in its Business Plan for 2005-2007. For CSEC, entries surpassed 500,000 and three new subjects were examined. For CAPE, entries grew significantly with 13 territories participating. New syllabuses were developed for several subjects. Work began on a new secondary level examination and the CXC Associate Degree programme was launched in five territories. The Council also registered its name and examinations as trademarks and held various stakeholder meetings and public relations activities.
