PhD Thesis Dec-2013 PhD degree in Computer Science. Supervisor: professor V.V. Krylov
- PhD thesis: «Research and development the architecture of the next generation computing and
smart grids»
Brief Synopsis of research:
- The thesis is devoted to the study of architectures NGN Computing grids and smart grid. Developed
and studied mathematical models of complex networks. The basic concept of the system
architecture is the topology combining its elements. In the thesis the optimization criteria
topologies were developed for computational grids and electrical power grid. It is shown that the
use of existing network topologies leads to uneven loading on the information resources on the
grid and exacerbates the effects of cascading failures in power grids.
Results:
- The theoretical analysis of the load distribution on networks with a limited degree of vertices was
made: found an analytical expression for the load distribution.
- The dynamics of maximum load changes was researched in a decentralized grid and it was
compared with the classical topology grids.
- The problem of optimization of the topology of the graph to compensate for the load on the
central nodes was solved.
- A heuristic algorithm was made based on genetic algorithm to reduce the time of synthesis of the
optimum topology of the network.
- Routing messages algorithm in a control system of the smart grid has been implemented in the
control system of real digital transformer substation.
