Interdisciplinary Approach I have worked in different academic fields, looking for connections between disciplines. I have published and presented papers on history, literature, intercultural communication, education science and business.
Chronological overview I have been there since the school started, led it to international recognition and brought it into the Spanish university system. Since 2006 I have been the director of Zaragoza Hotel Management School.
Chronological overview Previously I was Program Director of the Master Programs at Maastricht Hotel Management School. I designed and initiated the MBA in Hotel and Tourism Management, and the Master of Innovative Hospitality Management, a joint program with ESADE/St. Ignasi Barcelona.
Chronological overview I started at Maastricht Hotel Management School in 1993 Besides teaching, I coordinated the Modern Languages Department, and I was involved in the organization of student internships in Chile and Spain.
Chronological overview Teaching under less priviliged conditions and with limited resources. 1998, highest national average for my students in Spanish language and literature. From 1996-1999, I was granted an “extraordinary leave” for working in the Dutch Caribbean.
Chronological overview Upon finishing my studies, I became a Research Assistant at the Universiteit van Amsterdam (1987-1992). From 1992-1993, I worked as an Assistant Professor at Universiteit Utrecht. I did research on censorship in Spain. In 1992, I got my PhD. cum laude. I taught history and published a text book on the subject.
New projects I especially love to work on the development stage of new programs or new activities. I can help to overcome obstacles by looking for unconventional solutions. Particularly in international assignments, my productivity is above average.
