Angola has implemented new vehicle import regulations. As of November 1, 2010, customs will no longer allow the import of vehicles that are older than three years from the date of manufacture, except for diplomatic shipments. Shipments containing bicycles, motorbikes, chemicals, toys, second-hand vehicles, plants, food or drinks are also subject to pre-inspection in the origin country, and customs will charge a 100% fine on the CIF value if the proper procedures are not followed, excluding diplomatic shipments. All shipments will undergo inspection upon arrival as well, which can delay customs clearance and result in additional fees. It is advised to confirm any shipment plans with a local agent prior to shipping to Angola.
