Aleksandra Turukalo uses the pseudonym Sasha Talek in her visual art. She has degrees in Naval Architecture from Belgrade, Serbia and painting/visual arts from the Academy of Fine Arts Brera in Milan, Italy. She works in various media including painting, photography, installation, and film. Currently she does graphic design, journalism, and edits the website Glat-Paper About Art. Her work has evolved from figurative to abstract painting and incorporates influences from science and propaganda through techniques like collage. She analyzes and remakes works from artists throughout history like Alberto Savinio, Gerhard Richter, and Frank Stella.

degree in Navel Architect in the born city Belgrade (Serbia), except after the first
degree has dedicated herself on different. The degree in painting and visual arts she’s
got at Academy of Fine Arts Brera in Milan (Italy).
She uses various media in her artistic work: painting, intervention on print,
photography, installation and film.
Today Aleksandra Turukalo, alias Sasha Talek does graphic design, journalism,
usually lead voice of web debate and to edit the web www.glatnovine.com or Glat-

She developed from the ambient of figurative art to abstract painting and informal. An
interest in science is present in traces in her latest works, small collages, where she
broadly uses the effect of high quality print and the language of propaganda. For her,
art is nothing else but special newly created reality. Neo Informal, which she deals
with, generally uses contemporary content and approach to creating, which computer
graphic has.
Like Giulio Paolini, she approaches analysis with means and contents of artistic
pieces, travelling through art history, and thus she is dealing with series of Remakes
of some contemporary and modern artists like Alberto Savinio, Gerhard Richter and
Frank Stella. There are objects which should be collocated inside language of Italian
Arte Povera.
It should be emphasized that she took a degree in Naval Architect, graduating on 1996
in Belgrade and after graduate decided studding art to graduate on 2005. She has no
experience in the field of navel architecture. However, on 1998 she has used the
acquire knowledge of shipbuilding to take part in realization of Documentary series in
six parts about history of shipping on the Serbian part of Danube. She took part,
among other things, in working on the short film Parobrod (Steamboat) which won on
1998 Premio on Cortocinema in Rome.
