ABOUT
ME
Born
and
raised
in
Queens,
New
York,
I
have
always
felt
it
is
important
to
give
back
to
the
community.
Art
is
the
vehicle
I
use
to
contribute.
I
had
the
opportunity
to
join
my
passion
for
art
with
my
passion
for
nurturing
and
broadening
the
perspectives
of
developing
artists.
Through
perseverance
and
determination
I
succeeded
in
becoming
a
fine
arts
educator
while
continuing
to
pursue
my
art.
My
expertise
as
an
artist
and
an
educator
was
acknowledged
when
I
was
recently
selected
to
mentor
art
teachers
for
the
NYC
Department
of
Education.
Mentoring
is
a
rich
experience
because
it
allows
me
to
dedicate
more
of
my
time
to
exploring
my
own
creative
aspirations.
My
journey
as
an
artist
began
when
I
was
accepted
to
Art
and
Design
High
School
in
New
York
City.
I
was
fortunate
enough
to
develop
as
an
artist
from
childhood
and
receive
the
attention
necessary
to
focus
on
the
skills
needed
to
continue
my
artistic
pursuits.
I
continue
the
journey
to
develop
as
an
artist
practicing
multiple
art
forms
from
painting
to
video..
Through
the
years
being
an
artist
fused
with
who
I
was
to
become
as
a
person.
I
took
to
the
vocation
of
teaching
with
enthusiasm.
I
taught
students
from
many
diverse
cultures
and
economic
backgrounds
the
practice
of
the
arts.
I
was
able
to
explore
many
areas
of
fine
art
ranging
from
manuscript
illuminations
to
video
and
animation.
I
worked
collaboratively
on
a
variety
of
project
and
grants
with
the
cultural
institutions
that
form
the
bedrock
of
the
arts
in
New
York
such
as
the
J.P.
Morgan
Museum,
the
Metropolitan
Museum,
the
Queens
Museum,
and
the
Tribeca
Film
Institute.
Edward
Hopper’s
quote
captures
my
sentiment;
“If
you
could
say
it
in
words,
there
would
be
no
reason
to
paint.”
Creating
works
of
art
is,
was
and
always
will
be
my
vehicle
of
self-‐expression
and
being
an
artist
forms
the
core
of
who
I
am
as
a
person.
