Construction in space is challenging due to microgravity and other environmental factors. Engineers are developing new techniques for 3D printing structures on the International Space Station using materials that can withstand the harsh conditions of space. These additive manufacturing methods could enable construction of large space structures and even habitats for human exploration missions beyond low Earth orbit.
