Alex Bryan graduated from Southern Adventist University and Andrews University. He started a church called New Community Fellowship in Atlanta in 1996 to reach secular young adults. He resigned from denominational employment in 2002 to focus on evangelism through this church. However, he later felt convicted to reconnect with the Adventist Church. In 2007 he accepted a position as associate pastor at Collegedale Church. His experience starting New Community Fellowship and then reconnecting with the Adventist Church provided him lessons on relating to non-Christians and appreciating Adventist beliefs.
This document appears to be a presentation by Reyna Resendiz about adolescent Christian counseling. It discusses research on the topic, preparation for a career in counseling, and why Christian counseling is important. It also reflects on what the presenter learned about themselves and their postsecondary plans.
The document provides an overview of the emerging church movement:
- It is a worldwide Christian movement that crosses theological boundaries and includes many denominations.
- Those involved are disillusioned with traditional church structures and seek to deconstruct modern forms of worship, evangelism, and community.
- There is great diversity in beliefs, but many emphasize narrative over doctrine, culture over absolute truth, and social justice over salvation.
- The movement favors dialogue over proclamation and sees Christianity as a journey rather than defined by core beliefs.

The original Olympic Games began in ancient Greece in 776 BC and celebrated the Greek gods through violent athletic competitions, which were often deadly. They lasted over 1000 years before being abolished in the 4th century AD for being too pagan. Elements of the modern Olympics, like the torch relay, symbolize the ancient association between sports and sun worship. Some Christians are concerned that competitive sports promote rivalry, pride and idolatry rather than bringing people to Christ. The Bible warns that rivalry comes from Satan and causes strife, while the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy and peace.
This document discusses the steps to Christian perfection through the symbolism of the sanctuary service in the Bible. It outlines three steps:
1. Justification by faith - represented by the outer court, where Jesus takes our sins at the altar of sacrifice and we are clothed in His righteousness.
2. Sanctification by faith - represented by the holy place, where we develop a love for God through prayer and studying His word with the Holy Spirit's guidance.
3. Judgment - represented by the most holy place, where we allow Jesus to purge all sin as our High Priest, perfecting our character to be ready for His return.
This document is an introduction to Doug Batchelor's booklet on God's role for women in ministry. It lays out some foundational principles, including that the Bible is God's inspired word and that Christians should obey it even if teachings make them uncomfortable. It then discusses how the roles of men and women in the family and church are different, with men designated as leaders, though men and women are equal in God's eyes. The document provides an overview of the topics that will be covered in the booklet.
This document discusses formulas for finding the areas of trapezoids, kites, and rhombuses. It states that the area of a trapezoid is one half the height multiplied by the sum of the bases. The area of a kite is one half the product of the lengths of its diagonals. Similarly, the area of a rhombus is equal to one half the product of the lengths of its diagonals. It provides examples of using these formulas to calculate areas.
DNA replication is the process by which DNA copies itself so that each daughter cell has an identical copy of the DNA molecule. It occurs during S phase of the cell cycle and involves enzymes that unwind the DNA double helix, add complementary nucleotides, and proofread the newly synthesized strands. The key steps are initiation of replication forks, elongation of leading and lagging strands by DNA polymerases, and termination when replication forks meet.
