Alone we can do so little;
timeBanking/Lamoni
There are hundreds of time banks all over the
world and thousands of people are discovering
how rewarding it is to introduce a bit of give and
take back into their lives. Time banking is a tried
and tested way to build community, to support
neighborliness, and encourage people to be more
actively engaged in Lamoni.

timeBanking Values
Assets - We are all assets. We all have something to give.
Redefining Work - Some work is beyond
price. timeBanking/Lamoni values whatever it takes to raise
healthy children, build strong families, revitalize neighborhoods,
advance social justice, and make the planet sustainable. These
challenges are acknowledged and rewarded.
Reciprocity - Helping works better as a two-way street. The
question, "How can I help you?" changes to "How can we help
each other build the world we both live in?" Social Networks -
We need each other. Networks are stronger than individuals.
Special relationships are built on commitment.
Respect - Every human being matters. We will respect where people
are in the moment, not where we hope they will be at some
future point.

IRS Ruling
The IRS views time
banking exchanges as
friendly favors based
on the currency
of time and the IRS
cannot tax time
This is one reason why time banking is different
than bartering. In normal bartering, you have to
declare the value of the good and services you
receive to the IRS. Time banking is not taxed!
