COVID-19:

THE WHEELY STANDARD
A message from our CEO
Wheely’s first and greatest priority is the safety of
chauffeurs and passengers. COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
represents a threat to our health and wellbeing –
but together we can combat the spread of this virus
by taking some very basic measures.  

From 23 Mar 2020, all chauffeurs will be required to
achieve the Wheely standard in order to protect
themselves and their customers.

Recommended Set
You must provide hand sanitizer
and single-use tissues in the
passenger area of your vehicle.

Place them inside the armrest.
If hand sanitizer is temporarily
unavailable for purchase, the
temporary provision of impregnated
antibacterial/alcohol wipes for
passenger use will be acceptable.
Fallback Set In XL class
Place sanitizer and tissues in the
cupholder as there is no central
armrest.
Place water in the door panel, rather than central
armrest.

Remove all sweets, gum, mints, or any other clutter
from the passenger area of the car.

Do not place water into the central armrest.

HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS STANDARDS
You must sanitize high-touch surfaces after every
journey:

— door handles and seat adjusters. 

— plastic and metal components of seatbelts.

— internal passenger door handles and armrests.

— phone chargers and screens.

This must be performed, using single-use
antibacterial/alcohol wipes, after every journey.

Sanitize leather and soft surfaces using spray
disinfectant and wiping-down with a single-use
disposable cloth.

Disinfect all high-touch plastic and metal surfaces in the
passenger compartment, using a single-use disinfectant
or alcohol wipe after every journey.

Clean all electronic devices and cables using single-use
disinfectant or alcohol wipe after every journey.

You must sanitize the interior of the vehicle twice daily –
at the start and the end of the shift, wiping-down all
surfaces using disinfectant spray and a single-use cloth.

must be stored in the trunk
HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS STANDARDS
You must dispose of all contaminated materials in
sealed bags after each journey. Storage of
contaminated materials in the vehicle reduces the
effectiveness of the other measures adopted.

Please note: Small packs of tissues that have been
opened by passengers should be discarded at the
end of the journey, as these may be contaminated.

You must also possess and make frequent use of
liquid/gel hand sanitizer yourself.

CHAUFFEUR BEHAVIOURS
Cease all physical contact with passengers, unless
assisting elderly or infirm passengers into, or out of
the vehicle. Following which you must apply hand
sanitiser.

Maintain a respectful distance from customers
during greet at the end of journeys. 

Face away from the vehicle whilst opening doors,
ensuring that the passenger is safe entering or
exiting the vehicle.

Do not offer your hand, or accept the customer's
hand during greeting, or at the end of the journey.

CHAUFFEUR BEHAVIOURS
Continue to assist passengers with their luggage, but
ensure that after handling customer luggage, you
disinfect your hands, once the luggage is placed
safely in the trunk.

QUALITY CONTROL
Antibacterial spray and single-use cleaning cloths for
the purpose of disinfecting soft surfaces. 

Disposable plastic bags to contain contaminated
material.
Liquid/Gel Hand Sanitizer:

— for passenger use

— and for your own frequent use. 

Single-use tissues available in passenger and driver
areas.

Single-use impregnated antibacterial or alcohol
surface-wipes for the purpose of disinfecting hard
surfaces.
From 23 Mar 2020 you must be in possession of the
following equipment:
SUMMARY
You must contact support if you believe that you may
have been exposed to COVID-19 either through your
work, or in your private life. 

If you believe that a passenger has arrived from a
high-risk area, or is suffering from symptoms of COVID-19,
then you must inform Wheely support and conduct a
deep clean by disinfecting all internal surfaces, before
accepting another journey.

You must be prepared to have non-invasive body
temperature checks from Wheely Quality Control staff —
you may be required to self-monitor and record this
yourself in the future.

COVID-19: THE WHEELY STANDARDS

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) represents a threat to our health and wellbeing – but together we can combat the spread of this virus by taking some very basic measures.   • 4. 4 Recommended Set You must provide hand sanitizer and single-use tissues in the passenger area of your vehicle. Place them inside the armrest. If hand sanitizer is temporarily unavailable for purchase, the temporary provision of impregnated antibacterial/alcohol wipes for passenger use will be acceptable. Fallback Set In XL class Place sanitizer and tissues in the cupholder as there is no central armrest.

  • 8. 8 HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS STANDARDS You must sanitize high-touch surfaces after every journey: — door handles and seat adjusters. 
 — plastic and metal components of seatbelts.
 — internal passenger door handles and armrests.
 — phone chargers and screens. This must be performed, using single-use antibacterial/alcohol wipes, after every journey.
  • 9. 9 Sanitize leather and soft surfaces using spray disinfectant and wiping-down with a single-use disposable cloth. HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS STANDARDS
  • 10. 10 Disinfect all high-touch plastic and metal surfaces in the passenger compartment, using a single-use disinfectant or alcohol wipe after every journey. HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS STANDARDS
  • 11. 11 Clean all electronic devices and cables using single-use disinfectant or alcohol wipe after every journey. HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS STANDARDS
  • 12. 12 You must sanitize the interior of the vehicle twice daily – at the start and the end of the shift, wiping-down all surfaces using disinfectant spray and a single-use cloth. HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS STANDARDS

  • 14. You must dispose of all contaminated materials in sealed bags after each journey. Storage of contaminated materials in the vehicle reduces the effectiveness of the other measures adopted.   • 17. CHAUFFEUR BEHAVIOURS Cease all physical contact with passengers, unless assisting elderly or infirm passengers into, or out of the vehicle. Following which you must apply hand sanitiser. Maintain a respectful distance from customers during greet at the end of journeys. Face away from the vehicle whilst opening doors, ensuring that the passenger is safe entering or exiting the vehicle. 17

  • 19. CHAUFFEUR BEHAVIOURS Continue to assist passengers with their luggage, but ensure that after handling customer luggage, you disinfect your hands, once the luggage is placed safely in the trunk. 19
  • 20. QUALITY CONTROL Antibacterial spray and single-use cleaning cloths for the purpose of disinfecting soft surfaces. Disposable plastic bags to contain contaminated material. Liquid/Gel Hand Sanitizer:
 — for passenger use
 — and for your own frequent use. Single-use tissues available in passenger and driver areas. Single-use impregnated antibacterial or alcohol surface-wipes for the purpose of disinfecting hard surfaces. From 23 Mar 2020 you must be in possession of the following equipment:
  • 21. SUMMARY You must contact support if you believe that you may have been exposed to COVID-19 either through your work, or in your private life. If you believe that a passenger has arrived from a high-risk area, or is suffering from symptoms of COVID-19, then you must inform Wheely support and conduct a deep clean by disinfecting all internal surfaces, before accepting another journey. You must be prepared to have non-invasive body temperature checks from Wheely Quality Control staff — you may be required to self-monitor and record this yourself in the future.
