The document describes an experiment conducted by four students to test how the color of sugar beets changes with pH levels. They boiled sugar beets and placed them in jars with lemon, ammonia, or vinegar to alter the pH. Their results showed the sugar beet exposed to ammonia, which has a high pH, turned very dark in color, while the samples with lemon or vinegar, both with low pH levels, remained a bright color. The students concluded that the higher the pH level, the darker the sugar beet color.

The document describes an experiment conducted by Sara, Leila, Nina and Rhiannon to test their hypothesis that a boiled potato would not absorb water through osmosis like an unboiled potato. They cut a potato in half, boiled one half and left the other raw, then placed both halves in a salt solution to test if the boiled half absorbed less water. After waiting a day, they observed the results and drew a conclusion about their original hypothesis.

The document discusses how adding salt to water can change the density and allow normally non-buoyant objects to float. It describes an experiment where two eggs were placed in separate glasses, with one glass containing only water and the other glass containing water with added salt. As hypothesized, the egg floated in the saltwater glass due to the increased density from the dissolved salt.
This document outlines an experiment to observe the effects of vinegar and water on eggs over time. Four eggs were placed in four jars, with one jar containing vinegar, one containing water, and two controls. The document presents the methodology, results, and conclusion of the experiment and investigation into how eggs change when exposed to different substances.

Students conducted an experiment to test if lentil plants would grow better with cola or water. They planted lentils in soil mixed with cola in one box and lentils in soil mixed with water in another box. Over 5 days, they observed that the lentils mixed with water grew normally while the lentils mixed with cola did not grow at all, as the sugar in the cola absorbed the water needed for growth. Their hypothesis that cola would promote faster growth was incorrect.
