Bunions are bony deformities of the big toe joint that cause it to bend inward towards the other toes. They develop over time due to pressure on the foot from improper footwear. Bunions often cause pain, swelling, and calluses. Treatment options include changes in footwear, orthotics, icing, and rest. Surgery is considered if non-surgical methods fail to relieve pain or if the deformity is severe. Recovery from bunion surgery takes several months and may not fully relieve symptoms.
Bunions are bony deformities of the big toe joint that cause it to bend inward toward the other toes. They develop over time due to pressure on the foot from shoes. Bunions often cause pain, swelling, and calluses. While bunions may progress slowly over years, nonsurgical options like wider shoes, toe spacers, and orthotics can help relieve pain. Surgery is considered when conservative treatments fail and pain interferes with daily activities. Surgery realigns the bones but recovery takes months and complications are possible. Proper footwear and foot care are important to prevent worsening of bunions.
This document discusses children's foot health and the recommendations of medical experts. It covers the anatomy of children's feet, how ill-fitting shoes can deform growing feet, and the benefits of barefoot walking. The ideal child's shoe is described as having a flat, thin sole; wide toe box; soft interior; flexibility; and other features that allow the foot to develop naturally like when barefoot. Proper fitting is important as feet grow, and the shoes discussed use different shoe lasts and inserts to accommodate growth.
This document provides surgical treatment guidelines for a foot procedure. It outlines when surgery is needed, such as if foot pain is interfering with daily activities or conservative treatments have not helped. The surgical goals are to relieve 85% of pain, provide a more functional foot, prevent deformities from worsening, and avoid new problems. It then details a recovery timeline involving cast, surgical shoe, CAM boot, physical therapy and transitioning to a tennis shoe. Finally, it lists potential complications and their treatments.

A bunion is an enlargement of the joint at the base of the big toe that forms when the toe bone moves out of place, forcing the toe to bend towards the others and causing a painful bump. Bunions are caused by years of abnormal motion and pressure over the big toe joint from factors like inherited foot type, poorly fitting shoes, and how we walk. Symptoms include a swollen bump at the base of the big toe and pain with movement. Treatment options depend on the severity but may include padding, orthotics, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory drugs, and surgery to remove the bony enlargement and realign the toe joint.
A lot of people with bunions find pain alleviation with simple treatments to decrease strain on the big toe, like using wider shoes or using padding in their shoes. However, if these measures don't alleviate your symptoms, your physician may encourage bunion surgery.

Breast cancer: Post menopausal endocrine therapyDr. Sumit KUMAR
Breast cancer in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) status is a common and complex condition that necessitates a multifaceted approach to management. HR+ breast cancer means that the cancer cells grow in response to hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. This subtype is prevalent among postmenopausal women and typically exhibits a more indolent course compared to other forms of breast cancer, which allows for a variety of treatment options.
Diagnosis and Staging
The diagnosis of HR+ breast cancer begins with clinical evaluation, imaging, and biopsy. Imaging modalities such as mammography, ultrasound, and MRI help in assessing the extent of the disease. Histopathological examination and immunohistochemical staining of the biopsy sample confirm the diagnosis and hormone receptor status by identifying the presence of estrogen receptors (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR) on the tumor cells.
Staging involves determining the size of the tumor (T), the involvement of regional lymph nodes (N), and the presence of distant metastasis (M). The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system is commonly used. Accurate staging is critical as it guides treatment decisions.
Treatment Options
Endocrine Therapy
Endocrine therapy is the cornerstone of treatment for HR+ breast cancer in postmenopausal women. The primary goal is to reduce the levels of estrogen or block its effects on cancer cells. Commonly used agents include:
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs): Tamoxifen is a SERM that binds to estrogen receptors, blocking estrogen from stimulating breast cancer cells. It is effective but may have side effects such as increased risk of endometrial cancer and thromboembolic events.
Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs): These drugs, including anastrozole, letrozole, and exemestane, lower estrogen levels by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which converts androgens to estrogen in peripheral tissues. AIs are generally preferred in postmenopausal women due to their efficacy and safety profile compared to tamoxifen.
Selective Estrogen Receptor Downregulators (SERDs): Fulvestrant is a SERD that degrades estrogen receptors and is used in cases where resistance to other endocrine therapies develops.
Combination Therapies
Combining endocrine therapy with other treatments enhances efficacy. Examples include:
Endocrine Therapy with CDK4/6 Inhibitors: Palbociclib, ribociclib, and abemaciclib are CDK4/6 inhibitors that, when combined with endocrine therapy, significantly improve progression-free survival in advanced HR+ breast cancer.
Endocrine Therapy with mTOR Inhibitors: Everolimus, an mTOR inhibitor, can be added to endocrine therapy for patients who have developed resistance to aromatase inhibitors.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is generally reserved for patients with high-risk features, such as large tumor size, high-grade histology, or extensive lymph node involvement. Regimens often include anthracyclines and taxanes.

8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

Are you looking for a long-lasting solution to your missing tooth?
Dental implants are the most common type of method for replacing the missing tooth. Unlike dentures or bridges, implants are surgically placed in the jawbone. In layman’s terms, a dental implant is similar to the natural root of the tooth. It offers a stable foundation for the artificial tooth giving it the look, feel, and function similar to the natural tooth.

About Us :-
www.bunionsleeve.com.au
Six months ago I thought my running days were over. For the last
few years my genetic bunions were becoming increasingly more
painful. After running, I noticed my gait becoming worse and
worse. I would have sore feet, sore knees and lots of lower back
problems leaving me to hobble around for the next couple of
days. My metatarsal bones were starting to pull apart as my
bunions pushed my big toes harder against my other toes. When
I saw a Podiatrist who said the only solution was bunion surgery I
was driven to search for an alternative solution.
Now, having never had surgery for anything I wasn't about to start now, so I decided to start
looking for a viable non-surgical solution to my problem. I did a lot of research and looked at
many alternatives. I decided that my solution had to be simple yet effective. I figured I needed to
find a way to manage my bunion pain. At that point I wasn't imagining actually fixing the problem.
The main problem with any existing bunion corrector I found was that most of them do not allow
for normal movement so it would be very hard or impossible to use them during activity, be that
walking, running or just having to be on your feet for an extended period of time. Some of the
devices on the market looked more like medieval torture instruments to me. Most of these can
only be used at night as they are rigid splints that are bulky and hard. I tried the other softer
products but found they did little to help my symptoms. I could not find a product that could be
worn comfortably during periods of activity. I was looking for a product that was gentle and
flexible and could be worn day and night.

Perfect For Mild to Moderate Bunions (Hallux valgus)
Protects
Bunion Sleeve creates a barrier between your bunion (big toe joint) and your shoe. The ultra thin
bunion corrector is only 0.4mm thin, making it easy and comfortable to wear in any shoe during
periods of rest or intense activity.
Straightens
This bunion corrector gently repositions your big toe back to its more natural alignment helping to
improve your balance and gait. Bunion Sleeve is great for running, walking and people who like to
stay active.
Rehabilitates
This bunion treatment without surgery works by slowly releasing built up tension and relieving
soreness. If you are looking for an alternative to invasive surgery or rigid splints, then this is the
best bunion corrector for you.
