There are
three types
of Co-
ordinate
system:
Modal Co-
ordinate System
Working Co-
ordinate system
Screen Co-
ordinate
system
Modal Co-ordinate system:
1. It is defined as the reference space of modal with respect to all the
modal geometrical data is stored.
2. It is a cartesian system which forms the default co-ordinate system used
by a particular software program.
3. The X, Y and Z-axis of the MCS can be diplayed on the computer screen.
Possible
orientations of
MCS in 3D
space
Screen Co-ordinate System:
1. Screen Co-ordinate System (SCS)is defined as a 2D device-dependent co-
ordinate system.
2. SCS origin is located at the lower left corner of the graphics display.
3. The physical dimension of a device screen (aspect ratio) and the type of
device (raster) determining the range of the SCS.
4. SCS is mostly used in view-related clicks.
