ConnectivityConventions Malta
In May 2015, The Maltese Government together with the Malta Tourism Authority
(MTA) announced the set up of Conventions Malta, a foundation for the promotion
of foreign conventions and congresses.
Conventions Malta, within the MTA, operates as part of the Maltese Islands official
tourism board which is a national non-profit government organization which has
now been established for over 25 years.
Formerly referred to as the ‘M.I.C.E. Segment’; the Conventions Malta division
focuses primarily on conference & incentive travel and Association business to the
Maltese Islands.
The role of Conventions Malta is that of promoting Malta, Gozo & Comino as a
M.I.C.E. destination.
Conventions Malta offers free of charge, unbiased information and assistance to
event organisers looking at the Maltese Islands to host their next event on its
shores. Conventions Malta does not operate on a commercial basis.
The Conventions Malta setup further strengthens the importance given to the
corporate and incentive travel sector as well as the Associations market business
in and to the Maltese Islands.
The Maltese archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the
Mediterranean approximately 95 km South of Sicily
Malta is the largest of the three major islands that constitute
the Maltese archipelago
Malta is the cultural, commercial & administrative centre.
Gozo is the second largest island and is more rural,
characterized by fishing, tourism, crafts & agriculture.
Comino, the smallest of the trio, is mostly popular for incentive
activities
Population: 419, 421 (Data April 2016)
