4. • Conventions Malta is the official destination marketing department for M.I.C.E.
travel within the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA);
• With its conception in 2015, the objective of Conventions Malta is that of
promoting the Maltese Islands as a destination for Conference & Incentive travel
and Association business travel;
• As part of the official tourism board for the Maltese Islands, Conventions Malta is
funded by local government;
• The MTA itself is a national non-profit government organization which has now
been established since 1999;
• Conventions Malta does not operate on a commercial basis nor does it organise
events;
• The Conventions Malta setup further strengthens the importance given to the
corporate and incentive travel sector as well as the Associations market business
in and to the Maltese Islands
