2. Technology The Computrace Agent is a small software client that is embedded into the firmware of a computer at the factory. Most computers roll off the assembly line with our Agent already embedded. Or it can be easily installed with a simple download. Once activated, the Agent maintains daily contact with the Absolute Monitoring Center. This daily contact al lows IT asset managers to manage their IT assets (on or off company networks). By logging into the Absolute Customer Center they can monitor their devices, knowing where they are, who’s using them, and what types of software and other applications reside on them. Consider Computrace your built-in Theftguard™. If a computer is reported stolen, the Computrace Agent silently transmits data back to the Absolute Monitoring Center. This al lows us to obtain specific details like the physical location of the computer, any activity that has occurred post-theft , and other important data that will aid us in working with local law enforcement to catch the thief and return the computer to its rightful owner. Regard less of recovery status, our customers can remotely delete data to remove some or al l of the information stored on a computer so that it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands.
