THE PROCESS OF DRAWING
- At first, draw a rectangle of dimensions: L = 80 inch; B = 29 inch;
- Use the explode tool to isolate each side of the rectangle;
- Draw the inner gridlines as shown in the rightside figure using offset tool.

THE PROCESS OF DRAWING (CONTD.)
- Use the trim tool to erase the unnecessary horizontal as well as vertical
lines to create the staircase.
- At the last stage, draw a rightside vertical offset from the leftmost vertical
line of the rectangle (offset distance = 26.4 inch);
also draw a leftside vertical offset from the rightmost line of the rectangle
(offset distance = 13.6 inch).
- Then draw an inclined line in between these offset points to complete
drawing the staircase.
ASSIGNMENTS
• Assignment-1: Draw the staircase shown in today’s class
using your own process; save the file in AutoCAD and also
make a summary in powerpoint mentioning the steps you
followed to draw the staircase. Submit your AutoCAD file and
the powerpoint presentation on or before 13 April, 2023 in
your google classroom or in my email of East-West University.

• Assignment-2: Draw the column layout plan shown in the
next slide; the column dimensions are also given (all dimensions
are in mm).
