  • #2 We are often self-aware, but at the same time self-critical. Mindfulness is not enough without compassion, but it provides a basis for it. You need to have both. Compassion includes being kind to yourself and others, but also being open to receiving kindness. Compassion includes both awareness of, and action to alleviate suffering. Awareness alone is not enough.
