6. I. Private Person or Private Trader: It is the
smallest form of business in Finland. The
owner is not considered separate from their
business and is liable with his own assets for
the company’s debts. Specific taxes must be
paid and it is free to withhold profit.
II. General Partnership: It consists at least two
members called as general partners. Here,
there is no requirement of minimum share
capital and members are equally responsible
for the debts and liabilities, as they are for
profits.

7. III. Limited Partnership: It is formed by at least
two partners out of which one of them must be
the general partner who decides in the name of
the business and claims profits. The other has
no powers of decision and profits, but is liable
for the losses.
IV. Foreign Companies: Finnish Branch of a
Foreign Company is a part of a foreign society
operating in Finland. It is not considered as a
separate entity and the capital is provided by
the parent company. To perform research
activities, investors can also open a
representative office.
