Two Indian students at Colgate University, Bharadwaj Obula Reddy and Srikar Gullapalli, witnessed firsthand the pervasive corruption in government offices and services in their home country of India. Inspired to enact change, they developed a plan called "Shudhify" to document corruption at the grassroots level and empower citizens with information. With the guidance of their political science professor Michael Johnston, they conducted surveys outside government offices in India to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of services, hoping to shed light on corruption and spur reform.
